ART 203 - Art History I 3 credits This is an introductory course to the painting, sculpture, and architecture of the Western World from the Stone Age to the Gothic period. Students will study the development of regional and personal artistic styles, and the social contexts in which art objects have been created. This course provides a greater understanding of visual communication in the Western World, increases visual literacy, and promotes critical thinking, which can help the student reach professional goals in a variety of career fields.
