HSV 135 - Women’s Issues


3 credits
This course will examine the issues that women may be addressing in the counseling activities or human services settings. A review of the history of women and their roles in society will be utilized as background information. In addition, the life-cycle of women, gender stereotypes, mental health issues, and female sexuality will be studied. Using this information, the course will address and will analyze the impact of these many factors common in services as well as the female lifestyle. Students will gain new insights and self-awareness to gender issues in today’s society. This new knowledge will assist the student in most career settings as well as their personal lives.
