HSV 285 - Case Management: Intake to Discharge


3 credits
Case Management is a building block course for students who are pursuing employment in the helping career field. The course replicates case services activities from intake to discharge. Students will learn how to compile relevant information with clients and how to formulate this information into treatment plans. Students will learn the role of the case manager and the four essential functions of case management. The instruction will reveal the importance of ethics and confidentiality as well as how to effectively communicate with their clients. Students will also become familiar with the various assessment tools and forms used to diagnose, develop plans, and make recommendations for levels of care. The course will provide the student the opportunity to explore their own awareness of client services, enhancement of personal value clarifications, and develop career skills.
