ART 123 - 3-D Design 3 credits This course will introduce basic three-dimensional processes and materials as well as develop the students ability to analyze form and space relationships. Studio projects are presented as visual problems that require application of design elements and visual critical thinking. The impact of design in a variety of fields will be explored, as well as the relationship between design and culture. Via self and class critiques, students will evaluate their own work and that of their peers. This course will allow students to find new forms of self-expression, both in visual career fields and on a personal level. Required participation in the college art show or equivalent introduces students to proper presentation and framing methods. No prior artistic experience required.
