AGV 103 - Introduction to Veterinary Science Course Department: Science 3 Credits Total Lecture Hours: 30 Total Lab Hours: 30 Total Clinical Hours: 0 Course Description: This course introduces the basics of animal identification, husbandry, behavior, safety, and healthcare. Medical terminology, ethics, and the Veterinary Practice Act are key components of this introductory course. Other topics include regulatory veterinary medicine and public relations in veterinary medicine. The student will also complete the American Red Cross Animal First Aid and CPR certification. The course is taught in the overall context of the role of the veterinary assistant and technician in the profession of veterinary medicine.
