ADI 370 - OB/GYN Conference II Course Department: Health Sciences 1 Credits Total Lecture Hours: 15 Course Description: This course is the second in a series of three courses for students who are pursuing a diagnostic medical sonography degree. Students will continue their study of obstetric and gynecologic anatomy, pathology sonographic appearances of both along with doppler application. This course will enhance
their overall knowledge when making important life decisions.

Student Learning Outcomes and Objectives: Course Objectives:
1. Identify anatomy, anatomic variants, and sonographic appearances of normal maternal, embryonic, and fetal anatomic structures during the first, second, and third trimesters.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of pathology, physiology, pathophysiology, sonographic technique, sonographic appearance, measurements, and Doppler patterns in obstetric abnormalities.
3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the role of the sonographer in performing interventional/invasive/advanced procedures.
4. Evaluate scanning protocol and modification(s) based on the sonographic findings and the differential diagnoses.
5. Demonstrate achievement of clinical assessment through the thorough evaluation of sonographic images of examinations of the gravid and non-gravid pelvis with both transabdominal and endocavitary transducers, and Doppler/M-mode display modes, according to practice parameters established by national professional organizations and the protocol of
the clinical affiliate
