ADI 110 - Orientation to Diagnostic Medical Sonography Course Department: Health Sciences 1 Credits Total Lecture Hours: 15 Course Description: This course is one semester and is designed for students who are pursuing a diagnostic medical sonography degree. Students will be introduced to basic responsibilities of a diagnostic medical sonographer including professionalism, exam indications and preps, quality control,
ergonomics, bioeffects, patient care, patient clinical history and its correlation to the exam, infection control, medical law and ethics, patient confidentiality and rights. Students will be able to apply this knowledge throughout their life while making important life decisions.
