Course Description:
This course is designed to give the student a comprehensive understanding of the complete set of practices for managing the software and system lifecycle.  One advantage of the ISO 12207 Framework is that its recommendations are relevant for a range of professional roles and functions within that lifecycle.  The recommended practices for these roles and functions can subsequently be tailored to any relevant application within professional IT practice.

Objectives

  1. Understand the role of lifecycle management in the production of secure ICT products.
  2. Understand the roles of the customer and supplier in the overall process of providing a product.
  3. Understand the relationship of organizational process models to individual project lifecycles.
  4. Structure and run an effective project planning process.
  5. Understand the role and purpose of the technical processes in ICT work.
  6. Use the BSIMM software security framework to organize and manage software security tasks.
