Social Work, Transfer Major AA

The Social Work Transfer Major is an Associate of Arts Degree designed for students transferring to Iowa Regent Universities to study a variety of undergraduate majors; requirements may vary at other institutions. Students should become familiar with the specific course requirements of the four-year institution to which they plan to transfer. Students wanting to pursue this transfer major will have the opportunity to learn the necessary content and skills for upper-level classes at the transfer institution and to be successful in their desired field after graduation.

  • Human Services
  • Social Work

Program Outcomes:

  1. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the influences that interdependent systems and the societal culture have on human potential and behavior. This understanding will be applied throughout the student’s ongoing critical thinking process. 
  2. Students will demonstrate verbal and written skills and competencies, which will effectively facilitate quality communication, their relationships with others, their coursework and their practice.  
  3. Students will develop a knowledge base of best practices in the Human Service field. They will apply this knowledge through ethical, evidence-base practice and responsible daily living.
