Turfgrass Assistant Certificate

The Turfgrass Assistant certficates gives students the basic knowledge needed to work in the turfgrass profession. Students will be exposed to such topics as irrigation systems, landscape design, horticuluture and the applicator license. The program utilizes facilities on campus such as athletic complexes and Willow Ridge Golf Course

This program will give the students hands-on experience of taking skills learned in the classroom directly to the Fort Dodge Country Club Golf Course for implementations.

Program Outcomes:

  1. The turfgrass management program will provide the student with training to obtain employment in the trufgrass industry.
  2. The turfgrass management program will provide valuable hands-on training so the student will have the necessary skills to enter the turfgrass industry.
  3. The turfgrass management program will provide the student the opportunity to go on to receive a four year degree.
