Criminal Justice, Transfer Major AA



The Criminal Justice Transfer Major is an Associate of Arts Degree designed for students transferring to Iowa Regent Universities to study a variety of undergraduate majors; requirements may vary at other institutions. Students should become familiar with the specific course requirements of the four-year institution to which they plan to transfer. Students wanting to pursue this transfer major will have the opportunity to learn the necessary content and skills for upper-level classes at the transfer institution and to be successful in their desired field after graduation.

  • Criminal justice
  • Criminal justice studies
  • Criminology, law, & justice

Enrollment Date: Fall and/or Spring Semester 

Minimum Required Credits: 60

Program Outcomes:

  1. Providing students with a broad-based liberal arts education to help prepare them for the rigors of the criminal justice profession.
  2. Preparing students for entry level positions in various criminal justice professions.
  3. Helping to establish partnerships between ICCC and State, County and Municipal criminal justice agencies in our area.
  4. Providing a foundation for AA degree students to continue their education at 4 year academic institutions.
  5. Advancing the knowledge of the criminal justice discipline.

Required Courses


These courses must be taken as part of the Associate of Arts (AA) Degree to have Criminal Justice Transfer Major on the student’s transcript.

Most courses in this suggested program of study can be replaced with a course from the same category on the Associate of Arts (AA) Degree.
