Associate of Arts Guided Pathway: Health Science

This Guided Pathway’s suggested program of study is designed for students who are interested in the broad field of health sciences. This Guided Pathway is perfect for students who want to explore options as they earn their Associate of Arts Degree. A Guided Pathway allows students to explore yet meet their career and education goals efficiently and affordably. 

Suggested Program of Study


Most courses in this suggested program of study can be replaced with a course from the same category on the Associate of Arts (AA) Degree.

AA Program Notes:


  • Developmental courses numbered less than 100 DO NOT apply toward any certificate, diploma, or degree. Click here for the full Mandatory Assessment and Placement Chart   .   
  • Some courses may only be offered fall or spring semesters.
  • Some courses may have pre-requisites, which could impact sequence.
  • To graduate in four semesters, students must take an average of 15 transferable credits per semester.
  • Some courses may be available online or at other Iowa Central campuses.
  • Although an articulation agreement has been made with the institution(s) listed, students may transfer to another institution. Students must communicate with their Iowa Central advisor and their transfer institution when determining transferability. 
  • Major and/or degree options may vary based on desired transfer institution.
