NET 138 - Introduction to Networks 3 credits This course focuses on networking terminology, technologies, components, and how data is moved in the real-world network environment. Beginning with basics of data communication, students will learn about Protocol Data Unit structure of segments, datagrams, packets and frames. Students build upon network architectures, transmission methods, DCE/DTE interfaces, modulation, and multiplexing. Students will also investigate different types of network media and how they function along with hands on experiences with the media.
