Pharmacy, AA

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs of Study

Pharmacy is a profession linking health to chemical sciences to ensure the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs. Pharmacists typically assist patients with filling their prescriptions, carefully advising on their use, and providing drug information. They also review medications for safety and effectiveness.

Some pharmacists have pharmacy technicians that support them in their work and assist them with the daily operations of the pharmacy. This may include dispensing prescription drugs and other medical devices to patients and instructing them on proper use. This Iowa Central program in Pre-Pharmacy is the first two-years on the track of becoming an actual pharmacist.
