MAP 322 - Examination Room Techniques I 3.5 credits This course presents topics that form the foundation for clinical practice as a medical assistant in an ambulatory healthcare setting. The course focuses on fundamental skills such as patient assessment, patient education, and health promotion. Students will also learn to assist a provider with a patient exam. The course encourages students to demonstrate critical thinking, and to incorporate knowledge gained into the performance of course competencies. This course is the first course of a two-semester sequence.
