ART 173 - Ceramics 3 credits This course will introduce the basic methods of designing, forming, glazing, and firing clay. The student will develop knowledge of good design as it relates to both function and expression. Using the techniques of coil, slab, pinch, and wheel, students will achieve an understanding of the historic and cultural significance of this art form. Required participation in the college art show or equivalent introduces students to proper presentation methods. No prior artistic experience required.
