RDG 048 - Basic Reading 4 credits This course introduces students to strategies that, when applied properly, will improve their literacy skills. This course provides opportunities for students to implement a variety of reading and study practices, including expanded vocabulary, note-taking and test-taking strategies, and critical analysis and problem-solving, to improve comprehension of textbooks, scholarly articles, and college-level tests. This course does not meet graduation credit requirements for certificate, diploma, general studies, or associate degree programs, but it will provide students with a foundation of effective skills, tools, and strategies to support them on their path to achieving academic, personal, and professional success.
